Cary Grant was one of the great post war Hollywood stars and set the standard for a generation of leading men. He was born Archibold Leach in Bristol, England, started on the stage as a teenager, but made his name when he was given the opportunity to work in America. he became a major star after appearing alongside Mae West in the hit film She Done Him Wrong. He was married 5 times, including to Dyan Cannon and Betsy Drake. Cary Grant is known for is roles in romantic comedies although his Oscar nomination came for more dramatic roles, including None But The Lonely Heart, which was critically acclaimed but failed at the box office.
