Comment/Synopsis

Joan Fontaine is swept off her feet by Cary Grant and only finds out after marrying him that he is broke from betting on horse racing. As she finds out more about him and of his lies, she gets worried and when his business partner dies she gets suspicions. An excellent performance from Joan Fontaine as the increasingly paranoid wife. This is first time Alfred Hitchcock directed Cary Grant.
