Comment
Emeric Pressberger was a producer/director in the 1940's and 1950's including several successful and influencial films with Michael Powell. He started his career in Germany but fled the Nazi's and ended up in London bringing a background in German expressionism. He was introduced to Michael Powell by Alexander Korda and their first collaboration was The Spy In Black. In films like The Red Shoes they merged dance and fantasy into the film rather than it being seen as an add in to the film. They were experimenting with what they could do with film including effects and sound.
