Clive Owen masterminds the robbery of a bank, that turns into a hostage situation, meanwhile the owner of the bank (Christopher Plummer) employs a fixer (Jodie Foster) to recover the contents of his safety deposit box in the bank and Denzel Washington is the policeman trying to solve the problem. This was Spike Lee doing a heist thriller that was unusual fo Spike Lee.
