Tim Robbins has appeared in various dramatic and comedy films and was previously a long time partner of Susan Sarandon. He started his career with small roles in various tlevision series with his first film role a small part in No Small Affair. His first major role was in the sports film Bull Durham. Jacobs ladder is a psychological drama of a Vietnam war veteran as his mental life is unravelling. Bob Roberts is a poltical based film that was also written and directed by Tim Robbins. I.Q. was a change of pace as a light romantic comedy. He followed this with a role in The Shawshank Redemption and one of his best roles. Arlington Road was a conspiracy thriller wher he is a the nice man next door but with a darker side. Mission To Mars was a move into science fiction but the film was a flop. His one Oscar win was for Best Supporting Actor in Mystic River. He followed this with several science fiction films the best of which is Steven Spielberg's War of The Worlds. his more recent films whilst they are reasonable, they are not as strong as some of his earlier films.
