Career / Biography

Alexander Korda was an Hungarian born director and producer who was one of many who left Eastern Europe prior to World War 2. He moved initially to Hollywood in the 1920's and then to England in the 1930's. He founded and ran London Films and was also involved with British Lion Films. He was married to Merle Oberon for six years, His brother was the director Zoltan Korda. He was responsible for bringing together the pairing of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressberger.
