Career / Biography

Alexander Mackendrick was a director who is best known for directing five Ealing comedies. In the 1960's he directed a few films in Hollywood, notably High Wind In Jamaica. He had a difficult relationship with the film inductry as his perfectionst appraoch did not sit well with the profit driven studio system.
