Comment/Synopsis

Six children are sent by their parents in Jamaica back to England but when the ship is boarded by pirates the children stow away on the pirate ship. Their presence on the pirate causes trouble for the captain, mutiny and eventaullay murder. This was not popular at the bocx office as it fell between the family adventure film the studio wanted and the darker moral ambiguities of the original novel. This is particularly so of the relationship between Anthony Quinn as the pirate captain and Deborah Baxter as the young girl.
