Following this, was Married To The Mob, which had Michelle Pfeiffer in both a comic and a serious role as a mob wife which was followed up with the pshychological drama Silence Of The Lambs. Jonathan Demme allows Hopkins and Foster to thrive and won him an Oscar. Him and Tom Hanks in Philadelphia had an influence on how HIV was seen in the USA.
