In 1940 Joss Ackland and his younger wife (Greta Scacchi) go to Kenya where they get involved with the ex-pat social set. Greta Scacchi has an affair with Charles Dance and she agrees to divorce her husband. When Charles Dance is murdered, her husband is tried for his murder. This is based on a true story and the film is nicely evocative of the decadence of the British in Kenya during this period, from a strong cast that plays well to the setting and period.
