Comment/Synopsis
A sinister musician hypnotises a model into becoming a singer. This is well produced and filmed for the time it was made by Maurice Tourneur. Clara Kimball young is good in the lead, though Wilton Lackaye is less convincing as the Svangali character. Arguably the later version with John Barrymore as Svengali is a better film, but it was made 20 years later.
