An opera singer (Gloria Swanson) thinks she is missing out on her big break because her singing lacks passion as she has not experienced love. So she decides an affair with a handsome but notorious gigolo (Melvyn Douglas) is the answer. This is basically an early 1930's rom-com, with subtle rather than laugh out loud humour. In many ways the highlight of this pre-code film, is Gloria Swanson discovering her sexuality on a visit to Melvyn Douglas appartment. Whilst the plot is typical rom-con, the highlight is the performance of Gloria Swanson as she experiences love and sensuality.
