In the middle of a swamp a couple, Mr and Mrs Grimes keep orphans and abandoned children to work the land. They ae supervised by the eldest child, Molly (Mary Pickford). However when the couple get involved with kidnapping the baby of a rich family, the police come looking for them and the children decide to escape. This film largely revolves around the performance of mary Pickford, who at the age of 34 was still managing to convincingly play a teenage girl, she is also thee uncredited producer of the film. The film is slow and sentimental in the middle part, but picks up in the second half as they escape the clutches of the nasty Mr Grimes.
