The famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot takes the Orient Express train to relax, but when a murder is committed and the train is stopped by an avalanche, he is asked to help find the killer. This is a beautifully filmed version of the Agatha Christie book that is directed by Kenneth Branagh and also stars him in the lead role. Branagh is good except for the excessive moustache that is distracting. There is also a good supporting cast. Despite being visually impressive, it is slightly disappointing, especially when compared to the classic 1974 version as the actors and their characters seem constrained.
