A windowed father (Ben Whishaw) of three chldren is about to have his house repossed until help arrives in the form of the magical Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) who was his and his sister's (Emily Mortimer) nanny when they were young. This is Disney's remake of is classsic original version which had Julie Andrews in the iconic role. Much of the plot and flm are a variation on the orriginal film, though with new songs, but it is still very effective and Emily Blunt is good in the lead role as Mary Poppins. .
