Comment/Synopsis

Julie Andrews in the magical nanny Mary Poppins who lands with her umbrella to help out a family. This is one of the great and enduring Disney films that mixes live action and cartoon with some memorable scenes and songs. Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are very good in the lead roles despite Dick Van Dykes very dodgy cockney accent. Thisis a classic film as it merges live action and animation but also has a message to both children and adults. The film created a magical world of music and colour. She changes the balance of power in the house away from the men and it is also about the importance of spending time with your children.
