The life, trials and loves of a physician in ancient Egypt. This is a sprawling historical epic from Michael Curtiz and Darryl F Zanuk. It is visually impressive in the wide format Cinemascope. Whilst the plot is nonsense, it flows along through the film. The main problem with the film is the casting of Edmund Purdom in the lead role, given the stregth of the rest of the cast.
