A woman (Claire Bloom) is being blackmailed (Denholm Elliott) having committed forgery years earlier. She is fearful of telling her husband (Anthony Hopkins), but when it doe all come out, their lives are changed. This film is based on the Broadway play by Henrik Ibsen and has a good performance from Claire Bloom in the lead with good support from Anthony Hopkins and and Denholm Elliott. Whislt in palces it dos have the feel a filmed stage play the sense of a married woman starting to realise and explore her place in the world comes over well.
