A young Bruce Wayne witnesses's the murder of his parents and then moves to Asia where he trains as a Ninja. He returns to Gotham City to clean it up. Liam Neeson is the highlight of the film as Batman's nemesis and Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are good as usual. Christian Bale plays a much darker Batman than his predecessors, making a clear distinction between Bruce Wayne and Batman. Katie Holmes looks too young and is not convincing for her part. Gary Oldman takes the part of the honest policeman. Director Christopher Nolan set a differnt tone and feel to Batman films with his interpretation of the character.
