Christian Bale is a British actor who was born in wales. He has appeared in both drama and action films. From an early acge he started appearing in commercials, before getting roles on stage. His breakthrough film role was The Empire Of The Sun. After having worked with Steven Spielburg he then appeared in Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Henry V, but with a smaller role. His early films were all period pieces and he said that he wanted people to see the character and not Christan Bale. American Psychowas a different style of charcter in a contemporary very dark comedy. Equilibrium was a science fiction thriller, whilst Reign Of Fire was action, effects, and dragons. For his role in The Machinist he lost 63 pounds to play his charcter that was skeletally thin. In Batman Begins, Christian Bale delivers a much darker version of Batman rather than the comic book version. The Prestige is the rivalry between two magicians, again by Christopher Nolan. 3:10 To Yuma was a remake of the earlier 1957 western. In Public Enemies he is an FBI agent traking down a gangster. For his role in The FIghter he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. The Big Short was about what went on behind the 1007 stock market crash. In Vice he plays George W BUsh's vice president and the conflicts of that era. This was one of several performance he gave of real people.
