Hercule Poirot is on a trip trip to Holy Land when he gets involved in investigating the murder of a woman who rules over her adult step children with a harsh manner and tries to disinherit them. This is one a series of big screen versions of the Agatha Christie Poirot stories staring Peter Ustinov and has some great location scenery and a strong cast, not least Piper Laurie and Lauren Bacall as the two main female protagonists. However John Gielgud is underused as the local policeman.
