Jodie Foster is a successful American actress who is noted for taking on controversial roles (The Accused and Silence of the Lambs). She started her career as a child actress in television comercials, before moving into child film roles. Her first feature film was Napoleon and Samantha for DIsney and was followed up with a musical version of Tom Sawyer. She continued to appear on television and in 1974 worked with Martin Scorsese in Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More. That led her to playing a 12 year old prostitute as a 12 year old in Taxi Driver for which she got nominated as Best Supporting Actress. This was followed by theunusal Alan Parker film, Bugsy Malone, a gangster film played by children. By 1980 she took a break from acting and went to uninversity and then had to deal with a stalker and this led her into darker roles. The Accused being the signifcant role. That was followed by her most famous role in The Silence Of The Lambs. This film hightights how her acting is very much about her face and expressions. These are ther in her earlier films and are significant in this films. Her preformance in Nell is the one that she rates the most highly. Films like Panic Room and Flightpaln are about her ability to outthink those who are opposing her.
