Omar Sharif is remembered as an actor for his iconic roles in Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago. He started his career in Egyptian films before moving to England and styudying at RADA. His big break came when David Lean cast him in Lawrence of Arabia whith his first scene being the iconic shot of him riding into view on a camel. He appeared in a number of films in the 1960's but then became better know for his gambling and also for being a world class bridge player.
