In Batman Forever he plays a charcter who changes from bad to good as needed. This was followed by one of his most iconic roles in Men In Black opposite Will Smith in his first real comedy role. Double Jeopardy is legal / crime drama where he is the foil to Ashley Judd. Space Cowboys was an entertaining sci-fi comedy of mature pilots showing how you can be mature and a Hoolywood star. No Country For Old Men was a modern style western where he plays the policeman. The In The Valley Of Elah is one of the films examining the effect on people of the war in Iraq and he was Oscar nominated for Best Actor. He was again Oscar nominated for Steven Speilburg's Lincoln . The Homesman was a more emotional and dramatic western.
