Career / Biography
Darryl F Zanuck was a producer, but more influencial as a studio executive. He founded and ran Twentieth Century Fox from the mid 1930's through to the mid 1950's and then had an at times difficult relationship with the board and shareholders through to the 1970's. He pioneered the introduction of the CInemaScope wide screen format as way of competing for the rise in popularity of television.
