Ginger Rogers (Virginia Katherine McMath) was one of the actresses who epitomised the glamour of 1930's Hollywood. She had beauty, elegance and could act, sing and dance. She is best known for staring in a series of song and dance musicals in the 1930's for RKO Pictures with Fred Astaire. She was an established star before she was paired up with Fred Astaire and she gave some of her best performances in dramatic, comedy and romantic roles, particularly later in her career when she won an Oscar for Kitty Foyle.
