Stephen Fry plays the notorious Oscar Wilde in this adaptaion of his life, his homosexual relationships particularly with Jude Law and the events leading up to his trial and imprisonment. whatever you think of Wilde's private life he was a great comic playwright and this films gives a feel of how his emotions were pulled in different directions. You will appreciate the dialogue more if you know the works of Oscar Wilde. The largely British cast give good performances both in the leading roles and the supporting roles, including Tom Wilkinson as Lord Queensbury.
