A rich businessman wants to build a hotel on a remote island but of the group sent to survey the island only one returns and he is mute and catatonic. The businessman brings in a skeptic (Boris Karloff) and other assorted people (Beverly Tyler as the secretary) to visit the island to see what happened and debunk the local views of monsters and voodoo. The plot is very thin and the monsters poor. Jean Engstrom is killed by what looks like a blow up octopuss. This is not one of Boris Korloff's better films and Beverly Tyler does fine with the material she has to work on.
