A woman is killed in her flat and the police have four suspects all of who know each other and have complicated inter-relationships with each other. They all have motives to manipulate each other. Valerie Hobson is married to James Robertson Justice but is having an affair with Edward Underdown which leads to planning for another murder. The plot is suitable convoluted and twisted and benefits from a strong performance from Valerie Hobson.
