A group of vampire hunters led by James Woods is employed by the Vatican to find a master vampire tat is searching for an artefact to complete a ritual that will enable him to survive in the sun. He is helped by fellow vampire hunter Daniel Baldwin and along the way they work with Sheryl Lee who is a prostitute who becomes s vampire but helps them before she turns into a vampire. This is a visually impressive film as expected from John Carpenter with good action scenes and plenty of blood and viiolence. The individual performances are not great (though Sheryl Lee gives a good performance) but it is the combination of all the elements of the film that make this better than most horror films.
