The writer (Irene Dunne) of a saucy novel is actually a pillar in a small town, the residents of which know nothing about her life as the author. The illustrator (Melvyn Douglas) of her book tracks her down and forces her to expose herself. There is a very good performance from Irene Dunne and also from Melvyn Douglas. There are problems with the script, and particularly Melvyn Douglas's character who is obnoxious, a liar and resorts to blackmail to get what he wants, although her character is not much better. There are some good comic scenes that off-set some of the weaknesses of the film.
