Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford star in this sound version of Shakespeare's play, although this has very little of the original dialogue. Douglas Fairbanks is good as Petruchio, but Mary Pickford struggles with the role of Katherine. Part of the problem with the film is that it has the look of a silent film with dialogue added to some of the scenes. The film is more notable for being one of the few Mary Pickford talkies and the only film she and her then husband Douglas Fairbanks appeared in together.
