Two young women (both played by Mary Pickford) are in love with the same man. One is a rich woman who is sheltered from the reality of the world and the other on orphan who experiences all the harshness of life. However all their lives are complicated by the fact that he is married to an unpleasant and scheming woman. This is one of Mary Pickford's best performances, contrasting the spoiled but beautiful rich girl who recovers from lower body paralysis after an operation and the world weary, put upon and beaten orphan girl. It is well filmed for when it was made and there is a good supporting performance from Marcia Manon as the scheming wife.
