Julie Andrews is the nun who is sent to look after the von Trapp children in 1930's Austria. Love it or hate it, this has become a classic musical and most people know at least one song from it. It is unusual in that it is a musical that is set in the real world but has these musical numbers added. This includes the opening sequnce of Julie Andrews on the hill. Underlying the film is the change of Christopher Plummer's character. The film is whimsical and fantastic but it is also set in a real dark historical environment.
