The Bandit (Burt Reynolds) takes a job to drive a truck load of beer across to another state whilst being chased by a policeman (Jackie Gleason) and having picked up a woman (Sally Field) running away from her wedding. This is essentially just one long car chase, but it is entertaining from a world before mobile phones and GPS. The was a major commercial success with BUrt Reynolds being at the height of his popularity.
