Whoopi Goldberg is a night club singer who witnesses a murder and is hidden by the police in a convent. She does not fit in well, but then turns the poor choir into something respectable whilst the mob are still trying to track her down. THis was a big commercial succes thanks to the energy of Whoopi Golberg. She brought both her stand talents as well as her singing talents to the role.
