Hugh Grant and Tara Fitzgerals are a vicar and his wife who are sent to visit an Australian painter (Sam Neil) to ask him to withdraw a controversial painitng in 1920's Australia, but they get drawn into the lax morals and stange lifestyle that he has with several young ladies. Hugh Grant is less foppish than usual, but Tara Fitzgeral is the central character as she explores her sexuality.
