Comment/Synopsis

Two employees at a Budapest gift shop are antagonistic to each other whilst at the same time developing a relationship as pen pals. On the day they are to meet he is sacked and so cannot admit who he is to her. The film is made by the the performances of the two lead actors and is appealing as it explores relationships and romance in a very natural way as the shop is a microcosom of life. Whilst not as sentimental as the later It's A Wonderful Life, it does still show the good side of people in the run up to Christmas.
