Andie MacDowell's husband is having an affair with her sister (Laura San Giacomo), but when James Spader arrives, as the man who videotapes conversations with women about their sex lives, their lives are changed. The film is all about the dialogue and although it has adult themes and sex, but this is not really shown. This was Steven Soderberg's first film as a director.
