An American detective (Edmund Lowe) finds a body in a hotel room in France and then teams up with a female insurance investigator (Constance Cummings) to find out who it is and discovers an international smuggling ring that leads them to rural England. This is a good murder mystery with a well developed plot that moves through several locations and has some humour and romance. Edmund Lowe and Constance Cummings make a good pairing with convincing chemistry between them. This is better than most murder mysteries of this period.
