Three children are orphaned by a fire, and go to live with various guardians, whilst one particularly nasty one (Jim Carrey) contrives a series of accidents and other events to try and get their inheritance. A darkly comic film, that is unusual for a children's film. Good performances from Jim Carrey and Emily Browning (as the eldest child).
