A psychopath is stalking and killing teenagers at a high school which seems to be linked to the death of Neve Campbell's mother a year earlier. Wes Craven used this film to introduce the teen/slasher genre to a new generation. The twist in this film is that the characters use all the ploys of previous horror film makers to create the plot. One of the highlights is the cameo with Drew Barrymore at the start of the film. The film led to several sequels.
