A woman (Janis Page) thinks that her husband (Don DeForce) is cheating on her after he cancel yet another holiday so she asks another woman (Doris Day) to go on the cruise and pretend to be her whilst she stays at home to check up on her husband. At the same time the husband thinks his wife is cheating on him so employs a private detective (Jack Carson) to go on the cruise to find out what she is up to. This being a Hollywood romantic musical the fake wife and the detective fall in love. Doris Day gives an impressive performance in what was her first film having been previously know as band singer. her easy going charm, good lokks and voice that became her hallmark are already evident in this film.
