A couple are trying to come to terms with the death of their son in a car accident. She (Nicole Kidman) finds solace in a friendship with the young man (Miles Teller) driving the car who writes graphic novels and he (Aaron Eckhart) with a woman (Sandra Oh) from the bereavement group, whilst at the same time giving the appearance of coping with their loss. There is a good performance from Nicole Kidman that lays well against the suport of Dianne Weist as her mother and Tammy Blanchard as her sister with a very different character. The characters of Aaron Eckhart and Sandra Oh deal with their situations differently.
