On a remote Scottish island the chief of the clan dies when his boat sinks in a storm and his feisty young daughter (Mary Pickford) takes over as leader of the clan. She falls in love with one of the young men (Matt Moore) of the island, only it turns out his family is not who everybody thinks they are. Although primarily a vehicle for Mary Pickford, it is not one of her best, but the photography of seascapes, the rugged countryside and the sinking of the boat with Mary Pickford on board are well done and compensate for the limited plot. The other notable scene in the film is Mary Pickford going round the island with a large whip chasing people into the church service.
