Comment/Synopsis
During the depression in America, Jack Nicholson is an ex-con drifting accross the country when he meets Jessica Lange who runs a roadside cafe with her husband. They develop a torrid sexual affair that leads to them into conspiring to kill her husband. The characters of Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange are those of sordid killers, but the performances do manage to bring out a sympathy for them. This is a good remake of the earlier 1946 version with Lana Turner. The film is based on the novel by James Cain.
