A small mining settlement is being terrorised by one of the local landowners trying to take over their claims. That is until a lone preacher (Clint Eastwood) arrives in town. He is a preacher who uses his fists and guns, as well as words to defend the settlement. In a way this is CLint Eastwood challenging the traditional view of the western.
