A young academic astromomer (Sarah Carter) takes the bus to New York to see her boyfriend (Paul Popwich) but makes friends with a rodeo rider (Damon Runyan) when the bus breaks down. She invites him to stay with her family over Christmas and he and her boyfriend vie for her affections. This is a typical Christmas rom-com in which Sarah Carter has a simple innocent charm but but is too insipid for a high flying academic, though the best performance is from Kathleen Laskey as her mother. It is let down by the middle section being a PR exercise for New York at Christmas.
