A newspaper photographer (Lew Ayres) takes pictures after a crime boss is aquitted in a trial. He meets a mysterious woman (Gail Patrick) at a party who then appears at his flat with the police on her trail. He is then drawn into an investigation of a murder involving the woman and the crime boss. This is a typical 1930's murder mystery that is helped by good performances from both Lew Ayres and Gail Patrick. Joyce Compton is underused as the annoying girl friend of Lew Ayres.
