Comment/Synopsis

A miner is bringing up the daughter of his deceased partner, but as the mine is not producing any gold, he decides to send her to her aunt in New York to be brought up as a lady. However as she is poor she is made to work like Cinderella, This film is a wonderful mix of of early film melodrama, romance and comedy. It stars Mabel Normand in one of her best roles and benefits from a good story and some effective comedy scenes. Although not well received initially it was rereleased in 1921 and became the most attended film of the silent era.
